Hello! I’m Katy Bairstow, a thirty-something geek person from the heart of England, in fact I’m so English that I could be descended from a cricket bat and a slice of fruitcake.
I love cricket (test match, naturally) and I love fruitcake. I also love a nice cup of tea at four o’clock, preferably in conjunction with test match cricket and a slice of fruitcake.
I’m very partial to watching Doctor Who, Sherlock, Mythbusters and anything by David Attenborough. When it comes to reading, I love children’s classics such as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan as well as books by Terry Pratchett, Patrick O’Brien and Michael Palin. My music taste is eclectic including Blondie, the Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Mahler, Beethoven, Pixelh8 and Weird Al Yankovic. I’ve recently been introduced to dixieland jazz and am utterly in love with the sound.
I live in Kent with my spousal analogue and our cat; and it is from here that I work as a freelance wordpress developer as Pixel Punk and front-end developer/design monkey for Bairwell.
