Greenpeace Co-Founder Lyle ‘Doc’ Thurston Dies (1937 – 2008)

Environmentalist and humanitarian, Lyle ‘Doc’ Thurston passed away on the 26th March 2008, at the age of 70, in Victoria, British Columbia.

A crewmember aboard the first Greenpeace campaign to stop nuclear testing in the Aleutian Islands and co-founder of Greenpeace International, Thurston was the cornerstone of the environmental community.

His contribution to environmental campaigning and his humanitarian work mark Lyle Thurston as an example of the best of mankind, and he will be greatly missed.

My thoughts go out to his familiy and close friends.
