Jacques Helleu (1938 – 2007)

Jacques Helleu, the artistic director of Chanel for over 40 years, passed away on Friday 28th September after a long illness.

Helleu joined the world-renowned house at the age of eighteen and created the most memorable advertising campaigns in Chanel’s modern history. Most recently he oversaw the “Coco Mademoiselle” campaign featuring Oscar-winning actress Keira Knightley.

Jacques Helleu’s inspiration and creativity will undoubtedly be missed by his colleagues and my thoughts go out to those closest to him.
