Luciano Pavarotti (1935 – 2007)

The greatest Tenor singer in the world, Luciano Pavarotti, passed away in the early hours of this morning at his home in Modena following a protracted battle with pancreatic cancer.

The singer and actor will be remembered, not only by opera followers, but by many others for whom this larger-than-life character opened up a previously inaccessible musical genre.

My thoughts go out to his family and close friends, for whom the loss must be immeasurable.
